Hi darling, I'm so happy you chimed in 𑣲⋆
The big & terrifying question: which college is the right fit? Let's find out shall we...
It is very important to map out colleges into categories: safeties, reaches, and dreams. Your safeties are the guaranteed acceptances. Those are very important as they are your safety net. The reaches are a little harder, but still within your scope. The dream schools are the more rigorous institutions that require much more qualifications. Having this list helps you organize your plan and overall application, giving you an idea of possibilities.

Look into programs that are offered at the schools, especially any that fit into your interests/major. This step can come before making your "tier-list" if you have no idea on where you want to go. Go on social media to gather testimonials and stories from actual students. Think to yourself, "can I see myself going here?". The social scene and culture is just as important as academics. Do you prefer to stay downtown, in the rural suburbs, or the busy city life? Take these preferences into consideration. Also be mindful to how many schools you are applying to; it costs money to apply! As a high school student, many colleges will start to send you emails to advertise their school. Take a look into those and research the colleges for yourself! A lot of the times these emails can provide good insight into programs and scholarship. Look into FAFSA and scholarships!! Really, scholarships are sososo important and helpful in the long-run, college debt is NO JOKE, so get any financial aid you can find.
Come time to decisions, review the pros and cons of each place and go with your gut! No matter where you end up, make the most of it! College will be one of the most transformative times of your life, so don't hold back. Best of luck!!
I hope this was helpful!
